PIERRE’S PONDERINGS
March 2012 is the launch of my first ever website - I am dragging myself into cyberspace quite late. So I must thank my partner and girlfriend Claire Harrison for pulling this website out of hat for me!
I have so many loyal customers and newcomers interested in my cooking. So we hope this site will become a place for Claire and I to share what we are doing with everyone in one place.
To celebrate the launch of the website, I am delighted to share with you here two of the classic recipes from my book “Memories of Gascony” , which is out of print. More of that later as things may change! I have also shared a family recipe, the kind of thing Claire and I like to sit around a big table and cherish with our family - Coq au Vin.
My life allows me to travel and enjoy some fantastic food. So I also thought it would be great to share here with you on the site my Little Black Book - places I eat and enjoy.
Indeed, we found ourselves in Edinburgh in February for the rugby. I still want to see England play rugby as often as I can. Scotland versus England is always a good day out!
And I love nothing better than turning a rugby trip into a chance to have a lovely dinner.
So Claire and I met up with my former trainee, and now accomplished chef, Tom Kitchin, at Kitchin in Leith. We ate a beautiful dinner and drank great wine. Go there and you will not be disappointed: www.thekitchin.com
